Reading the numbers

Percentages may not add up to 100

On many questions some people saw the question and chose not to answer it. Where that happens the unanswered share is shown as a grey segment and labelled, rather than quietly removed.

Some add up to more than 100

Questions marked as multiple-answer let a person choose more than one option. Each percentage is the share of respondents who picked that option, not a slice of a single whole, so the figures are meant to exceed 100.

This is a selection, not the whole picture

These questions are drawn from more than 3,000 asked on Yoot and they are curated rather than comprehensive. The archive is a sense-making tool for noticing patterns and asking better questions. It is not a representative survey of young India and it should not be read as a final research finding.
